Sierra Nevada Corporation Sr. Database Designer: Product Development (Hybrid & Remote Eligible) in Phoenix, Arizona

Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for developing innovation solutions? Join our team! As a Sr Database Design Analyst, you will work with database management systems and design and implement solutions to store, organize and secure data. You will identify user needs and set up new databases, both on premise, and in the cloud. In many cases, a Database Design Analyst must integrate data from outdated or legacy systems into contemporary data management systems. You will also test and coordinate system modifications and troubleshoot problems when they occur. You will maintain system performance, understand the platform on which the database runs, and provision and manage system access. As a senior resource, you'll also brief leadership, demonstrate communication at the appropriate level for the audience, and mentor other analysts.

As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

This role is open to a hybrid schedule or 100% remote work in most states

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems for supporting tools like 3DExperience, Jama, Cameo, TeamWorkcloud, and custom solutions.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, security, and availability.

  • Linux, Cassandra, SQL, and Oracle knowledge are must-have job skills for a Database Administrator.

  • Develop and maintain data models using relational and dimensional modeling techniques.

  • Develop and implement database security protocols and backup and recovery procedures.

  • Monitor database performance and tune database parameters to ensure optimal performance.

  • Develop and maintain scripts for database automation and administration tasks.

  • Collaborate with software developers to design and implement database solutions for custom applications.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance problems, data corruption, and connectivity issues.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 10 or more years of relevant experience

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Very strong command of SQL and SQL server tools

  • Extensive experience with database technologies (MS SQL)

  • Strong understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling

  • Extensive knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards

  • Strong Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments

  • Strong PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills

  • Experience with cloud services (AWS and/or Microsoft Azure)

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
