Through DoD SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes, Sierra Nevada Corporation provides internships to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These internships include up to six months of on-the-job training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work.

As a Planner, you will be developing your skills to plan, and schedule the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods, and related material through our production and inventory process. You'll track production activity to help ensure a smooth and controlled flow of materials, troubleshoot potential scheduling problems, assist with providing solutions, and track production and material deficiencies and implementing the master production plan through the material management system to execute the program and product life cycle.

Responsibilities:

• Providing day to day support to Operations

• Providing statuses of program to production and/or management

• Identifying risks

• Creating Supply and Demand

• Planning and maintaining Operation’s schedule of programs

• Monitoring Metrics

• Ensuring on-time, compliant and consistent product to our customers

Must-haves:

• Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field of study and typically 3 years of relevant experience

• A higher level degree may substitute for experience

• Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education

• Experience with the engineering change process

• Knowledge of master production planning

• Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications

• Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations

• Ability to speak, read and write in English

• The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

• Experience in Supply Chain Management and /or Operations Management

• Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR)

• Understanding of Unified Commercial Code (UCC)

• Prior experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and /or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems

• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
