As a Safety Specialists II at SNC you are responsible for a range of technical work across HSE disciplines, focusing on engaging stakeholders, reducing risk, and maintaining related assigned HSE programs. You'll be working individually and in teams to develop, implement, and address employee and stakeholder concerns. Your technical responsibilities will ensure program compliance to federal, state, and local HSE regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:
Monthly equipment inspections
Quarterly building audits
Hangar walks and hazard reporting
Near Miss reporting and investigation
Facilitate incident investigation
NEO EHS safety training
Assist with program/training development
First aid kit servicing
Hazardous Waste pickups/signing manifests
Tool Box talks
Hazard abatement and mitigation using the hierarchy of controls
Engaging with employees to encourage participation in safety programs
Promoting a positive safety culture
Observing and tracking leading indicators with managers
Assist Managers in implementing EH&S programs
Job Hazard Analysis Facilitation
Laser Safety Officer
CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor
Weekly eyewash station inspections
Safety Leadership Trainer for management
Respirator Training/Fit Testing
Fall Protection Training
Other applicable safety training
GEMBA Talks
Assist with development of site specific safety plans/programs and implementation with supervisor oversight
Facilitate 6 month and annual inspections on fall protection/eyewash stations etc...
Must Haves:
Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field of study, or experience
3 or more years of safety experience in aerospace, military, aviation, or general industry
Knowledgeable with a variety of occupational health & safety standards, EPA, OSHA, and NFPA regulations
Demonstrated ability to conduct a job hazard analysis, site audits, and incident root cause analysis
Fluency with data capture, data analytics, spreadsheets, and presentation
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Preferred:
Experience with DCMA INST 8210
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
Certifications, including Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST)
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $62,660.05 - $86,157.57. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
