Sierra Nevada Corporation Sheetmetal Technician in Centennial, Colorado
Employee will be responsible performing in-depth sheet-metal repairs and modifications on both piston and jet aircraft in the general aviation arena. The position will require the ability to make decisions related to the proper techniques and materials needed to perform the work. Some travel both domestic and international may be required to recover damaged aircraft or repair aircraft at the customer facility. Employee must be proficient in all aircraft manufacturer’s support manuals to allow complete research into a repair programs or maintenance functions.
Straight Flight is a subsidiary of Sierra Nevada Corporation since 2007 and is equipped with 3 18,000 square foot hangars with back shops for fabrication of both metal and composite parts, avionics repair, and painting projects. Straight Flight became a Certified Repair Station with the Federal Aviation Administration in 1992 and was rated by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency in 2007. Straight Flight currently holds a very impressive Operations Specification that includes 5 Class ratings.
Salary & Benefits:
4 – day work week, (minimum 40 hours a week)
Day Shift 7:00AM to 5:30PM

Must-haves:
High school diploma and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience in general aviation and corporate aircraft
A higher level degree may substitute for experience
Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations
Ability to speak, read and write in English
Ability to read blueprints
Ability to understand and interpret applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications, and service bulletins
Must possess own hand tools to complete any maintenance function
No limitations on confined space entry and ability to lift 50 pounds
No drug or alcohol convictions within the last 5 years
Participation in random drug and alcohol testing pool mandatory
Background check applies – driving and criminal records reviewed
Sheetmetal experience with repair, modification, or manufacturing in a part 145 repair station
Preferred:
Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Power plant certification with no prior FAA violations
Experience with computerized maintenance manuals
Previous experience with Corridor software will be favorably considered
Previous Sheetmetal experience with thicknesses of .0015" - .0030", or with flight controls will be favorably considered
